Visiting any church for the very first time can make anyone a little nervous. Where do I go? What do I wear? What time do I show up? What’s here for my kids? What can I expect? These and many more questions can come to your mind. Well, we want to put you at ease.
We want your first visit to Anchor to be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience helpful teaching and preaching of God’s Word, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home!” Here are a few answers to your questions about what you might expect on your first visit.
What should I wear?
There is not a dress code at Anchor Bible Church. A specific attire is not required for you to join us. We think it makes sense to wear nice, clean, modest clothing to church. As long as you do that you will not feel out of place.
Do you have a nursery?
Yes. Nursery is provided during all services for children 3 years of age and under. There’s also a junior church on Sunday mornings. Find out more on the Kids page.
What are your services like?
Our services are what is commonly called “traditional.” The worship music includes great hymns of the faith as well as newer songs. The focus of all of our meetings is the Word of God. Generally, we will have announcements, Bible reading, prayer, several hymns, a message from the Bible, and a closing hymn.
Am I expected to participate in the offering?
Giving can be done online or by placing an offering in the offerings box. These gifts from our church family fund the local ministry and the global outreach through our missions program. You are welcome to participate, but we don’t invite you to Anchor Bible Church for your offering.
